I have been lusting over this Trashy Diva dress since it first released in Summer 2014. I was always too nervous to take the plunge to order from Trashy Diva so I missed out on this the first time around. When I saw a lovely lady selling it on a Trashy Diva swap & sell Facebook page, I absolutely flipped out. I knew I had to have it and I’m definitely not disappointed.
This light-weight seersucker cotton is perfect for keeping cool during the spring/summer months. Just make sure to wear shorts or a petticoat underneath on a windy day otherwise strangers may be getting a free peep show! The ruffled bodice adds some interesting textural details to a rather simple silhouette. The cinched waist, full skirt and flouncy bodice is a feminine woman’s dream.
One of my favorite parts of this fabric is the ability to be accessorized in a multitude of ways. You can pair it with bright pops of color or dainty nudes, depending on your preference or occasion. I personally paired it with a vintage dusty rose hat with floral appliques and a vintage embroidered handbag. I recently saw a flyer for a vintage event nearby, so now I actually have an excuse to add to my vintage accessory collection.
I originally came across Trashy Diva years ago when on a family vacation in New Orleans. I was in middle school and didn’t know anything about the pinup community, yet I was still so drawn in. My love for this company started early and I didn’t even know anything about! I really hope I come across more discounted Trashy Diva styles in my size because I absolutely love being able find pieces I missed out on.
